Delivery and Shipping

When you place your order, you can add additional delivery instructions to your order to help your driver deliver your parcel without any delay. Simply fill in the box titled 'Add a note for your delivery driver here' on the checkout page. You can find this box at the bottom of the checkout page in the 'Add delivery instructions' section. Please use this section to instruct your driver on a specific place to leave the package(s) if the recipient is out, such as 'If out leave with neighbour'. If you do not provide any instructions, Parcelforce will leave a card and your delivery will be delayed. If there is no-one over the age of 18 available to receive the local delivery, we will contact you to make arrangements.

Description

Duncan Savage matriculated at Rondebosch Boys High School in 1995. In 2016. Savage Wines was set up in the heart of Cape Town in Salt River.

Vineyards for his wines are leased and grapes sourced from around the Western Cape, maritime in nature where possible. Granitic soil is the focus.

Chenin blanc planted in 1956 on the border of Paarl and Stellenbosch along the N1. Dry farmed bush vines on a gentle South facing decomposed granite slope.

The old planting material is prone to very tight bunches, intense vineyard sorting is required when picking. Grapes are cooled overnight and whole bunch pressed in an oxidative manner. Natural fermentation and malolactic fermentation takes place in older 600L Stockinger barrels where the wine ages for a further 10 months before bottling.

2022 was a challenging and hot vintage. Fortunately for us the vineyard has been improving with all the love and care over the years and we have seen more balance in the canopy and crop. The vines generally show so much more vitality year after year. Only perfect bunches were picked and processed. Granitic soils allow for a natural freshness and grip in the wines with characteristic pineapple pastille, apple, oatmeal and fynbos
flavours. The vintage shows the typical saline core and purity we have come to expect from this old girl. Never Been Asked to Dance drinks well young but will reward for many years to come
